SERVING LOCAL FAMILIES, LIKE YOURS, FOR OVER 60 YEARS!
Duct Cleaning & Healthy Home Solutions in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland
Indoor air pollution has been found to be 100 times worse than outdoor pollution, and since people typically spend 60 to 90 percent of their lives indoors, this can cause major health concerns if duct cleaning is left unaddressed. Air fresheners, cigarette smoke, and other household cleaning products are some common indoor pollutants. Emissions from a faulty stove or furnace are also harmful pollutants, which is why it’s important for our technicians to evaluate your equipment every year. When the home is incapable of diluting the pollution due to high humidity or improper ventilation, these pollutants build up indoors and become more harmful, which makes duct cleaning highly important.
Dry skin, itchy eyes, headaches, stale smells in your home, or even cracked furniture can all point to signs that your indoor air quality is poor. Two out of three IAQ issues generally involve the HVAC system.
If you live in or around Exton, PA, King of Prussia, PA, or Wilmington, DE, start improving your home’s comfort and safety today with ServiceMark’s Healthy Home Solutions. AIR CLEANERS
Air cleaning devices are intended to remove pollutants from indoor air. Some air cleaning devices are installed in the ductwork of a home’s central heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system to clean the air in the whole house. Portable room air cleaners can be used to clean the air in a single room or specific areas, but they are not intended for whole-house filtration and removing gaseous pollutants.
HUMIDIFIERS
Humidifiers are commonly used in homes to relieve the physical discomforts of dry nose, throat, lips, and skin. The moisture they add to dry air also helps alleviate common nuisances brought on by winter heating, such as static electricity, peeling wallpaper, and cracks in paint and furniture. A humidifier system is installed directly onto your central heating and cooling system. Water is supplied to the humidifier and, as the warm air moves across the humidifier, the water is evaporated and the properly humidified air distributed throughout your home.
DUCT SEALING & INSULATING
Proper airflow in and out of the home is key to indoor air-quality control. If you feel a draft or find yourself constantly adjusting your thermostat to feel more comfortable, you may have air leakage in your ducts, windows, doors, attic, or crawl spaces. This can let in the unwanted outdoor contaminants, and, if ventilation devices aren’t working, these harmful materials can linger throughout the home. Our BPI-certified auditors can help pinpoint where these leaks are and perform the necessary measures to fix these infiltration issues.
Check out our Energy Audits/Weatherization page for more information.
DEHUMIDIFIERS
Removing moisture from wet indoor air can help balance indoor humidity levels and minimize the potential for mold and other pollutants.
DUCT CLEANING
Without proper duct cleaning and maintenance, contaminants such as dust, dust mites, pet dander and pollen can collect in your ventilation system. Our expert technicians provide an advanced “source-removal” duct cleaning using high-velocity air hoses and a high-power HEPA-Aire vacuum to dislodge and remove debris. Then (if applicable) they’ll clean your duct surfaces with an environmentally safe sanitizing agent.
